So I decided to look over the omega chronographs in my collection and this one caught my eye. Stainless steel but thought to myself, not too bad. Front is nice: And so is the back:
Very nice - sort of an all-business general purpose chronograph, but not without some grace and elegance
Ah, but it's not a Seamaster - it's a De Ville. And I've never seen blue snot. Purple (on my 865 SM Chronostop and a few of Mike's watches) and pink I think, but blue is a new color to me.
De Ville's were a more cost effective line for working men, maybe blue is the colour of more economical snot
Well, these were really seamasters - some had seamaster on the dial, some de ville and some seamaster de ville.
Do you have any like this one? Next watch is between a Speedmaster and one of these with the thicker lugs:
Yes have one of those in gold cap. That's an uncommon seamaster chronograph - according to Bill Sohne this was the first seamaster chronograph model (ref. 2907) though I think case ref. 2884 was even earlier. Here's a photo of mine:
Kyle saved an old grainy pic of my 2907. Here is what it looks like now (with a gator strap): Now that I look at these pics again, I think the elapsed seconds hand (top left register) is incorrect! Funny that it hasn't bothered me before in over 5 years...
Mike So where does this one on ebay fit in? Is it the 1st iteration of the "Seamaster" 321 Those hands correct? Not a seamaster! Nice 321 chronograph though. Have one of these too - those hands are correct and though the case looks polished, it's still in decent shape.
Funny. Has that Seamaster type Screw case back. So this is like 1 year before the 2907 321 Seamaster. Agree. Case is still very sharp on this one.
