Hello all members,

I would like to request for the comments from many experts here in this forum’s.

First of all, I have a little knowledge about this uncommon watch.
Please shed some light on this watch which I have the chance to buy it, if the price is not the main thing.

It’s the 1958-59 Omega Seamaster 300
Ref: 2913-1. The Movement number was 15,706,XXX with caliber 501 (20 jewels).

In my opinion.
Dial: Original “Swiss Made” dial.
Hands: Original "Broad Arrow" hands, with some corrosion
Crown: Original signed Omega flatfeet crown
Bezel: The bezel insert was gone
Movement: Original Omega Cal 501 (20 jewels)
Bracelet: Original 7077 with endlink no.6

Thank you for sharing your advice with me.

Does the Dial have Luminous wells like the Railmaster, filled with Lume or is the Lume printed/applied on the dial ?

My advice regarding this model is: Tread Carefully.

However, to my untrained eyes, this may be a nice watch.

I’m not an expert on these early SM300’s but from what I can see and know, it looks like an incomplete (bezel) example but what is there appears original and in good condition.

Bracelet appears to lack the original double expansion links but does have correct single notch #6’s.
Correct 7077 would have no date inscribed.
A Geiger Counter is a must!

to me it looks like a beautiful dial with patina effect. the hands have a beautiful patina effect due to the detachment of the top layer with a beautiful effect. I see no problems with this dial, indeed a beauty that should take on with time.

These 2913-1 are extremely rare. This looks like a nice example. The crown and some bracelet links have been replaced, but that’s not surprising after 65 years!
Did you buy it?

Though it was nice I would venture to say that was bit optimistic on the pricing.. but I guess it did sell.

The market is fairly soft on these and you can find a 2913-3 or similar typically for about a quarter of that if you keep your eyes peeled.

Can you please send me to the $5K 2913-3's? I'm suffering a watch abstinence at the moment but for such deals I may certainly weaken...

 Wow! That one went really cheap!

Im not in the market for an early SM300 and I recall watching the last few minutes of that auction and having to sit on my hands to stop throwing a bid in.
