    Hi folks!

Just found this beautiful Connie but I'm a bit unsure.
It's an Omega Constellation, reference 168.027 with a C-shape case in a good condition.

What do you think? I'm not quite sure, whether it passes the MOY test...

Does it look authentic to you?

THANK YOU for your help and knowledge!

If you check my short post history I have a 168.029 with a day/date. It's MOY alignment is identical to yours with the 'O' slightly off kilter.

Desmond's blog covers this anomaly in the case of C-Shapes in his MOY Test essay (on mobile so can't link).

It's lovely looking specimen you have there. If the price is right, grab it.

Also dude, you'd be well advised to get pics of the case back, movement etc an post em here for a more thorough analysis.

Score! That's C-liscious. ::love:: My first C-case Connie was a linen dial too.

    Oh, and DIBS!

    564 movement is correct

    Looks like original yellow gasket

Figure $200 + parts for a service above your purchase

I had this similar reference 168.017 without white gold bezel that had same MOY alignment so believe as others already noted that is correct

Hey, I appreciate our faith in me, but the most I could say with confidence is the pics remind me of a watch movement. And that is as far as honesty allows. However my sense from other people's comments here is that you are on to a winner.

Thanks! Do you think I have to spend $200 + money for parts for another service in the near future?
The last service was 1,5 years ago...

Are you absolutely certain of this - i.e. do you have a receipt? IF a proper service had been done, that old, yellow gasket should have been thrown away.

Does the seller have proof of a service (not just their word) from a known good service provider? For example paperwork from the service provider?

If this was serviced 1.5 years ago, in my view the job was not done well. The case back gasket is decades old, so that was not replaced during the service - this is a pretty standard thing to do during a service. Clearly the rotor is/was rubbing on the inside of the case back. I find it improbable that a watchmaker would replace the worn rotor pinion, yet leave an old case back gasket in place.

If you buy this, plan on doing a service in the very near future IMO.

    Cheers, Al

As noted above documentation is imperative. Please do replace the gasket with modern rubber to prevent your perspiration from entering watch case and never submerge vintage watches under any circumstance ;)
