Hello everyone.

I just found a store near my house selling an Omega watch with a solid 14k rose gold bezel.
The seller says the watch is original, but I'm not entirely sure. The asking price is $1000 USD, negotiable. I feel the dial might have been refurbished because the dial background is a bit bright. Could you advise me whether I should proceed with the transaction or stop? Thank you.

Looks ok to me. This type of watch is called gold-capped. The main condition issue is that the shape of the lugs has been sadly modified by polishing. If that doesn't bother you, I don't see why you shouldn't buy it.

The polishing does affect the collectible value, it will be up to you to do some research and decide how much to pay.

Agree with Dan!
Dial is original IMO, but is there seems to be an issue with the tension ring of the plexi

Plexi is Omega signed, maybe it is possible just to get a tension ring???

Or did they take these pictures when the watch was not completly reasembled?

Good point. I was so focused on the dial, that I didn't even notice that huge gap! ::facepalm1::

Thank you, I'm glad you responded quickly. I was so focused on the dial that I overlooked the slightly worn lugs. I'll think about it more. Thank you.

Thank you, I asked the seller to take clearer pictures; perhaps those photos didn't include the plexi and the spacer rings.
