    Hello!
I was reacently gifted this watch and im in need of some help to figure out what model it is and if it's real. If so I'm looking forward to bring it back to its former glory.

The glass was replaced by a cheap glass and I suspect that the strap isn't original either.

Any help will be highly appreciated. IMG_8024.JPG IMG_8025.JPG IMG_8026.JPG IMG_8027.JPG

Likely genuine, but for sure a refinished dial.

We will need to see inside the case back and the movement to tell for sure.

beautiful example from the end of 40's. Obviously refinished dial. Open it and show us the movement and case back from inside. It should be Omega 30T2SC movement.

Hope these photos help to find out what's the model.
What do you recommend that I should do with the dial, have it refinished once more or buy a new one. Is this even possible?

    Thanks for the help

Your watch was originally a # 2005-5 model, however it is likely changes have been made to it over the years and the movement replaced with a newer Cal 285 movement from 1958
This means that the watch is a composite of different watches/models.

since this watch is not collectible anymore, because wrong movement was putted on the case and the repainted dial from caliber 30T2sc was putted on caliber 285 movement, you can do anything you want with it.
On my opinion, the correct is replace the movement and the dial for the correct one. Should be caliber 265/266. Clean the case, change the glass, crown and strap and enjoy the watch.

Wow! Lots of replys in a very short period of time. Thank you very much for the detailed information. I will probably only change the dial, glass, crown, strap and leave the movement as is. Where do you recommend to buy these parts?

Concerning the dial, if you want a correct non redone one, you will have to buy a second hand one or a donor with a dial. It has to fit your case, so you will need to measure your dial and find a similar one. It is usually a long search!
