Okay, OF experts. I'm comfortable with assessing many vintage Omegas, but I'm clearly out of my depth on this one and I'm not sure whether the seller knows what he has or if this simply a franken/fraud. Seller identifies the watch as circa 1960, but the 13xxx serial would date it to 1952, I believe. The case back identifies the reference as a 2478-2. I did an internet search and can't find anything that looks similar for this reference. Same thing on Chrono 24. Seller represents that the watch, other than the band, is 100% original signed Omega and not a redial. I've also never seen hands like this on a vintage Omega that I can recall. Movement looks dirty and in need of a service, too. Photos are below.

    So, my questions are:

    1. What model is this?
    2. Is it original and correct for the reference?
    3. Redial?
    4. Should I be running away?

Any light that our OF experts can shed on this would be appreciated. Thanks.

only the movement is original in this Watch.
Repainted dial, wrong hour and minute hands, non Omega case

The only 2478s I could find are bumper automatics. The case is very different, too.

As I suspected. It looks to have some elements of an early manual wind Geneve (2xx movement, crown, hour markers, crosshair seconds subdial), but I believe that the first Geneve was released in 1953 and the case and hands on this watch are way off. Thank you both for your help.
