    Hi

I intend to buy an Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch with moon phase. I'll met with the person face to face but it's a great distance to travel and I don't want to loose time and to arrive to see that it's about a fake..I know that the pictures are not good but are the pictures from the ad. The seller doesn't have box or cards..only the watch.
Hope members with more experience can help me.

    Thank you

Also please let me know which is the exact ref no and caliber..

That appears to be a 3575.20.00. These are hand-wound and use the Lemania 1866 caliber. What year is it? I'd feel more comfortable seeing a serial number and world logo (if applicable to the year), but I don't see any obvious signs it's a fake. Someone more "in the know" may be able to shed more light on it. That the seller didn't tell you the ref # and caliber is a cause for concern, in my opinion.

My conclusion: Don't buy without a year of purchase, service history, and serial number, at a minimum (and probably wait for some opinions other than mine). If I don't know the seller, that increases their burden of proof to show the watch works well, is in good repair, and isn't fake or stolen.

I've owned two of these and there is nothing in the photos to suggest it is anything but genuine. Hard to tell the serial number from the pic but just make sure it is present on the lug and starts 771. It is indeed a 3575 with the 1866 movement, also the bezel is 18k white gold. Those pictures really don't do justice to what is a beautiful watch in the flesh. 2015-03-24 10.52.58.jpg

Thank you for your fast reply. I bought in the past from this seller an Omega Olympic with five counters and was 100% authentic and works good but was with cards and everything so I wanted to be sure..you never know. Maybe the seller it's in good faith and think it's authentic and in reality...

Thank you again..and I'll go for it.:)

Does it have service history ?
    Would the seller take return.
2500e would be around £2200 which is a fair amount for a watch with no box cards or ?service history. You could take it to a authorised dealer get them to open it check it, then make a decision. It's a lot of hassle or you could look around wait and find one from a trusted seller with box cards and return offered, ok maybe a bit more but you will get what you want and be happy its real.

I like the one from chrono24 ( I also like more the steel bracelet then leather) but I don't think a seller will lower the price from 3500 Euro to 2500 Euro..:). I think at the price of 3500E the best offer it 3000 if it's a private seller and if it's a business seller 3200E

Those are correctors (not pushers) for the moon phase and date.

This video shows the dial side of a Cal. 1866 movement I was servicing at the time, and how the corrector for the moon phase works...

    Cheers, Al
