    Hi guys,

In the process of purchasing a mid sized Seamaster. Looking for ones with the 1120 movement.

Found a watch from a seller but was suspicious of the movement. The 'Omega' word and logo engraving seems off no? I cant fine another similar looking one online...

Any immediate feedback would be great!

Looking at images online and also here http://watchguy.co.uk/service-omega-seamaster-calibre-1120-2/ I'm not entirely convinced by the engraving on the rotor either. In particular, the feet of the Omega symbol, the "G" on Omega and the bottom of the "2" in 1120 look off to my eyes. In fact, the whole thing looks printed rather than engraved (but that could just be the lighting/photo).

Don't take my observations as conclusive. @padders probably knows more than I do about this sort of thing, but as with any sort of transaction, if you have doubts, perhaps it's better to take a couple of deep breaths and review your level of confidence/trust in the seller before going further.

Thanks! I cant find any information regarding fake 1120 movements, the rest of the movement looks fine compared to Internet pics.

Maybe I'll purchase via PayPal if its possible. Jeweler seem to have a solid reputation online.

Also, regarding the 8 digit serial number on the movement..what's the significance of it?

    - Does it act as some sort of year identifier?
    - Is the code related in any way to the numbers etched on the outside (lug)?

It looks fine to me too. The 8 digit code is the serial number and should match the code on the lug.

Not sure what people are talking about with regards to the movement printing, but it looks fine to me. I've serviced who knows how many 1120's and there's nothing unusual there.

    Cheers, Al

Thanks for your feedback Archer, it was the Omega logo and the '2' of the 1120 that threw me off. It just looks different from other 1120 movement pics I found on the Internet
