That you shouldn't rush in to purchases without doing appropriate research, and that given that the last few posts you've made have been of this nature that you might want to slow down a little. ;)

A dial in that poor a condition has to be original.

Dial is good, period correct. I am not sure about the main hour and minute hands. But overall looks fine apart from those 2 hands which needs more verification.

Do some more studying before purchasing or you are bound to get burned. Especially in dealing with UG.

Dial looks original, though I'd have to see a couple things under a loupe to be 100%. That said dial looks to be in its original state but appears to have some patina that's not just crystal/acrylic scratching. If you can live with this then no worries. Case and lugs may be polished though these pictures make that tough to discern from here. All in all I guess if the price is realllly good then go for it, if not find a better one!

Thanks, price was good, so i bought it, especially because it was a steel tri-compax that i was looking for 3 years. Scratches on dial and the dial condition is ok for me, i was looking for a watch with character.

Thank you all for helping replies.

So out of curiosity, what size is the case? And do you mind sharing what was asked for it? Smaller case (not oversized) should be better prices than a bigger sibling...

You won't lose money on it at that price.

With a 287 it's an oversized case. 31 is normally, but not always, red. For under 3K I would mos def buy it. Dial is orig but not greatest condition, but not terrible. The blue moon face looks orig, hard to find. You never know what costs you have under the hood with a service.

    Yes, bought it.

Yes, i think the dial is charming, i like the scars. Everything is working and the seller told me, last service was about 9 month ago. I was looking for an oversized steel one for a while.

And i am sorry for the annoying posting style in the rush.
i was requesting the instant help of the forum, because the seller were at a watch market and i had to decide in between one hour. And even if i have learned a lot about ug and tri-compax in the last 2 years from salas book and at this forum, i wanted to ensure the authenticity and avoid to oversee something, because i know that you can get burned your fingers easily with ug.

    Congratulations!

I hope you'll post a lot of photos of movement, close-ups of the dial etc. when it comes. That way you'll help contribute to the knowledge bank on OF and help others make qualified decisions :)
