Can anyone tell me the approximate value of this watch. I just had it restored today. It's 14k gold and the numbers inside the watch are H6679 and F86439. I believe it was purchased new in about 1964. I had the watch cleaned, the crystal replaced, the face refinished and a new band put on it. It keeps perfect time.

Well, esp the 'refinishing' of the face will put off a lot of die-hard collectors on this Forum.
Next tot that, the lugs (protruding pieces) on the top-side seem to bend outwards rather a lot.
Afraid that people over here will value it not too high(ly): some 100 USD?

High res pics of the inside (the calibre) and inside of the caseback will help determining the exact state of the watch.

As far as the lugs are concerned that is how they came from the factory. This was passed down to me by my dad who received it for years of service at his job. As far a the refinishing of the face is concerned, a 55 year old watch needs to be cleaned once in awhile doesn't it? I'm no collector but who wants a dirty watch with a scratched face? The jeweler who did the work buys vintage Swiss watches and offered me $1,500 for it. I was just trying to see if that's a fair price.

Unless the pic is distorted: no way
The cal does, the face: no
Look around the Forum: nearly everyone (yep, define: 'dirty')

    Grab the money and fly.

I'd grab the $1500 offer before he realizes it's worth about a quarter of that in an open auction.

If you are willing to sell the watch take the $1500 and run.

Being a high end retail jeweler they probably have a different clientele that aren't comfortable buying off an internet forum.

Being a high end retail jeweller, they probably have clients that know nothing on vintage Omega's and might bite for USD 1500

As everyone else has said....take the money. Not many collectors want a polished watch.

It's a keepsake for me and is NFS. I was just curious about value. Apparently to this group it's not worth anything so I plan to just wear it and enjoy it and pass it down to my son. Signing off folks.

Before you go could you please just PM me the details of the jeweller who offered you the $1500?

    Thanks.

What a waste of time to ask opinions then proceed to tell those who provided the requested opinions, they suck.

This "group " is fickle that way, sorry you didn't get Overwhelmed with offers as you seemed to have wanted.
