    Hello all - I am (still) looking for my first vintage Speedy and ran across this one. It appears that the hands look like newer replacements, the case has likely been polished and the dial has been relumed - when checked against MWO and Speedmaster101 with my untrained eyes.

    Anything else that I miss/need to consider? The asking price is around Speedmaster101's good.

    I don't know that the dial has been relumed, but if it has it's not terrible. The case has been polished but also not terribly done, there's still a nice bevel on it and the proper finish remains. I think the hands are replaced, yes, but are still tritium and based on their appearance I would guess they were fitted towards the end of the tritium era in the mid-late 1990s. Also not terrible.

    Caseback's nice, crown looks like it might be original, DON is fantastic; for SM101 'Good' I'd be all right with it.

    Looks like a service crown.
    And I can't see any Omega logo on the hesalite.

    Additionally (feel free to correct anyone who really knows what they are talking about), I think that dial lume is original, not a relume.

    Finally thanks again to OF I was able to procure a new crystal and period correct vintage crown:

    145.022-68a.JPG

    and took them to Hal Martin's Omega qualified watchmaker James Huff (got the name from an OF thread but not sure where) for replacement (+ gasket and all). A week later it came back, now with period correct crown and crystal with logo:

    Since my eyes are not so great I borrowed a magnifier to look for the logo on the crystal:

    and found it :) (sorry for the pic quality):

    Happy camper now ::psy:::
