Hi I have been offered an Omega 503 calendar for about USD 370, case is stainless. I brought the watch to have it checked by a watch maker. He inspected the watch and gave me the thumbs up on the mechanical parts, but warn me that the case has been polished...regarding the dial he could not be sure if it is a redial or in original state (he is more to the mechanical side) but mention that it is clean...maybe too clean. I am still new watch collection and will greatly appreciate your inputs. I have post some pics of the dial
Thank you. I have been trying to learn to detect a refinished dial but have no luck...however in this case my watch maker did mention it is too clean for a vintange watch. Can I ask what is the giveaway that show it is a redial for this? Is it the letters? or the condition.of the dial? And is 370 too much? the cal 503 machine is still good and runs well, case was lightly polished...
Fonts are incorrect for this vintage and there should be luminous material in the notches at the ends of the figures. I would return it if possible and search for a better example.
Thank you so much for pointing out to me. Basically I borrowed the watch from the seller to have it checked by a watch maker. Will have it returned tomorrow and inform him of my findings
