Dear IWC and vintage watches aficionados,

A friend of mine is considering purchasing this 1960s IWC watch. I have some doubts as to the dial. It looks refinished to me. What do you think?

Thanks for sharing your views. Much appreciated.

Could be refinished, but IWC will refinish their dials and they usually do a good job.

Minute markers look very suspicious to me, but I have no experience with these dials.

Always be cautious of a mint black dial on any vintage watch.

The devil is in the script on IWCs and you want to look at a few dozen to get the nuances of a correct script.

I in international is not dotted, W in watch is iffy ( right curl is a touch high and short )

But I would have asked Dennis :whistling:
