Ran across this watch and need help on determining if it the real deal. Seller won’t allow me to remove back.
Strap not original to that kind of watch. Likely a bumper automatic. Agree with @X350 XJR in all respects.
Worth the $200 IMO. Here’s one that I used to own. While not highly sought after by collectors, these models have a very classic, clean look.
Thank you for the help. I purchased the watch. It's been a long process. This was a pawn shop find. Seller would not let me take the back off for inspection or take to a local watch maker I trust. I first saw it over a year ago and tried to buy it from time to time. He had it in inventory for quite some time. We finally came to terms when I told him it would be like buying a 1969 Camero without knowing if it was a big block V8 or a 6 cylinder. I'll change bands. The Spiedel band is nasty. Probably put a brown or black leather band on
You guys are better than me. The only thing I could positively ID in that first photo is the OP, by his fingerprints.
Got it home. Removed the band and gave it a badly needed bath. Took the back off to find this: It is a 550. From the way the gasket disintegrated, probably has never been serviced. That is the next step.
