Hi guys, I am new here and also new to vintage Omegas. I have a question regarding a certain watch pictured below. Any information like date, authenticity, and model would greatly be appreciated. Thank you in advanced.

As of right now that's all I have. But will have more shortly. The seller is a reputable member of a group I am in. What I can't figure out is why there isn't any writing towards the bottom of the watch like I see on almost all Omegas.

It's probably intended as an awards watch. There may be an engraving on the back.

I have a watch with a caliber 750 - which I suspect is in the piece you are interested in - and it was someone's retirement gift.

If it is an awards watch as you describe does it not really have a name like Seamaster or Speedmaster? And how much could something like that be worth?

Also I do know that it has a 1342 movement and it supposedly from 1972.

Well I got the one I show, gold plated, wrong crown and unserviced for a little over $300US. I use it a beater watch. I did have it serviced and the movement is quite good.

1342 is a quartz movement (with the day/date it would be a 1345 or 1346). If it is a quartz movement, then it's a redial as it clearly says automatic on the dial. More likely that the seller has no idea what he's talking about. http://www.ranfft.de/cgi-bin/bidfun-db.cgi?10&ranfft&&2uswk&Omega_1342

With that bar on the dial separating the day and date, it will be a 10xx movement if it is an automatic from that era.

The seller is either laying or don't know what his talking about (maybe both). That dial and a cal. 1342 do not match.
Either get more info, or leave it and find something else.
