Hey guys, I recently found an old omega watch in the attic amongst other watches in an old collection. These watches was bought in the 50s or 60s, and they belonged to a family member. I am new to watches and have been trying to identify the Omega watch and the other watches. Since I don't know exactly which year it was made in, and the fact that I'm too afraid to pop the back open means that I'm struggling to identify the watch and the other watches.

Any advice or help in identifying the watch would be greatly appreciated, also would appreciate an estimated value.
    Thanks 44178727_736075786751354_7542283538976997376_n.jpg 43952618_446574795869981_2643476341176926208_n.jpg 44174418_1787987977977662_2501863499831967744_n.jpg

The overall style and the shape of the "S" in "Seamaster" gives a hint as to the approximate age, but to get the best information, you should have a watchmaker remove the back of the case, and you should post clear, high-resolution, photos of the inside of the case-back, and of the movement.

Yeah I was thinking of getting the watch serviced as it hasn't been touched in years, I was just wondering if the service would be worth it as it would probably cost around 100$ or so to get the dial cleaned and the top and back shined back up. But thanks for the info anyways.

Maybe you can take all the watches in and have the watchmaker open them for you. Take photos, do your research, then decide what to do with them.

Yeah ill probably go and do that, all the watches are from around the same era. Also some of them are less known brands like one that I have thats called mirona.
