Hi all! I recently posted in the simple questions weekly thread about this watch I received. I got around to taking more detailed photos and here they are. http://imgur.com/a/Jz0KJ The inside of the case reads: Omega Watch. FAB Suisse. Swiss Made. 352 18K .750 168005/6 If anyone could give some insight to this, it would be greatly appreciated! Story of the watch was my grandfather was given it by the King of Bahrain in the 60's. I never met my grandfather but I remember hearing that he was of high ranks in Egypt. I can get more details if wanted. When he passed away, my father then took possession of the watch. I recently graduated and have been gifted it. Serial number is 24799191. Thanks!
Can you post pictures in to your thread please Not a link And a straight on shot of the dial You'll get more/better responses that way
firstly -welcome to the forum and congratulations on your Constellation thanks for the pics as Foo2rama says 168.005/6 is the case type (if it was stainless it would be just 168.005) classic dog-leg Connie designed by Gerald Genta it is a dome dial (as opposed to pie-pan) 564 quick set date movement - you pull the crown out (gently) twice to set the date 24,7xx serial puts it around '66/'67 the case is slightly polished but not too bad the crown is a replacement I think the dial has been refinished as the upper font doesn't line up at it should but if it has it has been nicely done (black dials are often re-worked -if you could get a hi-res pic of the font it would help to see for sure) A nice remembrance of your grandfather if it hasn't been serviced get it to a vintage watchmaker before you start wearing it or you will end up damaging the watch movement lots more info in Desmond's blog http://omega-constellation-collectors.blogspot.co.uk hope that helps
