Need help identifying ref.

A 166.041 (gold plated with stretch bracelet) got me back into collecting, I have the stainless steel version now, with an 1168 bracelet, and I have an opportunity to buy a solid gold version but can't for the life of me find the ref for the solid gold version.
The crown has been replaced, I'd just like to be able to discern if it is a dog or not, as the rear case seems off (no visible stamps) I need the solid gold ref so I can move on to a Speedmaster.... This is really messing me up. I've added a photo of the steel version with the 1168 and bad end links, I'll likely sell or trade the bracelet and put a NATO or oyster style band on it while I track down the flex bracelet.
Cheers

Will you be adding photos of the watch you are asking about? I don't see how anyone can help you otherwise.

The steel watch with bad links was for reference, the watch in question is solid gold, automatic, date, 565 movement, but lacks tritium.
This is the watch in question. I can't find another like it, and can't find the ref. For it. It is identical to my steel and gold plated versions, except for the caseback, which is gold rather that steel, and pressure fit as opposed to screw down.
The crown looks to be aftermarket and I can't find any stamps on the caseback. I'd love to be able to research it a bit more prior to pulling the trigger. My (very limited) understanding is that there was a 9ct gold version produced, and there was a (quite rare) 14ct version produced, yet I cannot find any information, pics, etc or either version online.
Any help would be appreciated.

I'm just not sure on this one. The crown is definitely not correct, the proper solid gold buckle is missing, I'm still wanting a source for comparison regarding the caseback, so I'm going to let this one get away and get a speedy instead. I'm not really big on gold watches just thought it would be neat to have all three basic iterations. There are dials I'm after (grey with the orange wedge seconds hand, for instance, blue, black and so on) and I'm really crazy about the aesthetic design. Such a clean, basic case, and the dials are beautiful imo. But forget this one for now, I'll get a speedy I think. If anyone does find info or is interested in this one for your own collection let me know. Man. These omegas are really getting to me.

You would need to see the inner casebook markings in a better photo to be sure but I would guess that isn't a Swiss case, maybe local production. Everything you need to know is there, and it is strange that the photo is so poor. The caseback profile is rather different to the steel models and as you say the crown is wrong. Unless it could be shown that it was Swiss or a known quality local manufacturer like Dennison I would steer clear here (say that 3 times fast)
