Need help identifying grandpa’s vintage Omega

I need help identifying this Omega I received from my grandfather. The Omega Boutique I took it to told me they believe it was made prior to WWII, probably in the late 1930s. The case is marked 14k gold. My grandparents were married in 1939, so I’m thinking this might have been a wedding gift. Any jeweler that’s ever looked at it said they’ve never seen one like it before. And I too over many years have never seen a similar one online. I don’t have a serial number for it, nor do I want to try and open the case as I’m afraid I’d damage it. Any help identifying this from the photo is GREATLY APPRECIATED! Thanks, and God bless!!

Too funky for the 40s.
Looks more like a goofy Norman Morris creation for US market. Late 60s early 70s
But I’m just guessing.
More photos please of back and sides and bracelet markings.

Hi Jim and welcome!
Nice looking period watch you have there, I think Liberace had this same watch ( a joke among friends).

I think this is spot on but the Omega De Ville line, especially around the time of the Emerald line 1971, had some similar designs ( definitely not goofy). To really tell more, we need to see inside and peek at the movement and the nomenclature inside the caseback.
Since you aren't comfortable removing the caseback, have someone competent do it for you and take lots of good pictures. You will need to find a good service location anyway if you plan on winding/wearing the watch. I'm assuming it hasn't been serviced in some time.

Too flashy as a daily wearer but worn at a cocktail or formal party, or adorning a beautiful lady, Grandpa will smile!

I'm betting on a little cal 620 movement. Definitely 1960s.

Thanks for some great info! I actually picked it up today after it was totally serviced/refurbished, as it had been in really rough shape (see before pics). But I don’t plan on wearing it. I was surprised the Omega Boutique didn’t have the serial number recorded somewhere.
I may take it to another local jeweler and have it opened and photographed. Thanks again. Now I have better info to go on for further research.

Most Omega Boutique staff have no idea about vintage watches from my experience.

Definitely from the 1960s as noted above.

Is it possible that it's a wedding anniversary gift, say 25 years? That would put it in the right era.
Maybe your GF added "his'n'hers" years together to come up with gold for 25 years instead of silver 😉.

I hear what you’re saying about them. They are the ones who said it was pre-WWII. And yeah, I was wondering too if it could have been a 25 year anniversary gift. Now that I think about it, I almost remember my GF telling me he was glad he bought it before gold prices shot up, and that started in 1971. 👍👍
