Hi, I have been trying to seek opinions regarding the authenticity of this gilt dialed 5512 that is corroded to a color brown. This is a 1964 5512 submariner with a serial 1.15x million. Can I have your opinion as to the authenticity of this gilt dial? The lumes are near perfect dispite the main dial area being corroded away. It is a 4 liner but the 3rd and 4th lines are almost eroded away. I also suspect that the main dial area was coated with lacquer to stop further corrosion. The second question falls on the movement. I was told by the seller that it is a 1530 movement with acceptable modification ( by Rolex standard ) but I noticed the lack of regulator marks. It looks to more like a 1560 or 1570 movement with an engraved 1530 bridge. There was a kind gentlemen from VRF that suggested it to be an early 1530 movement vaiation. Shouldn't that come with a butterfly rotor? Failling to find a more correct 1530 movement, would a 1560 movement be acceptable for a 1964 submariner? Lastly it has a caseback stamped 5512 but without any production year stamp. I think it was a replacement as casebacks marked 5513 and production year was more the norm. Your opinion is greatly appreciated. Thanks. .
