Looking at purchasing from this thread. The seller has been great so far, very responsive, and knows the signs of fake or franken SM 120's. I checked out the thread internally here, and it seems like this is good. However, this watch is just in such good condition that my brain refuses to believe I got such a great find (haha). Can anyone check this out and evaluate? Seller is open to sharing more pics/video, and is claiming he bought previously from Jack Wong. https://www.reddit.com/r/Watchexchange/comments/bo6mvv/wts_1960s_omega_seamaster_120/
Sketchy. Tough to tell from 1 wrist shot. Screams fake from this photo. Detailed pics are required. Movement. Case back. Inside case back, etc. This model has many replicas out there.
There are more pics on the thread, but instead as a link outside of the reddit site. https://imgur.com/gallery/DRi0wlw and https://imgur.com/gallery/nuVMNJN
Someone asked about the same watch last November. https://omegaforums.net/threads/seamaster-120-ref-136-027-movement.84915/ Something amiss about the movement number being altered.
I am no expert, but I wouldn't personally buy it. A 50+ year old black dial with no wear or patina and crispy white text along with a dinged up case? How does that even happen?
That's actually a cool kit, like the Watcho 300's I guess, except DIY for the build. Problem is when people try to sell one as a genuine vintage piece rather than a kit watch....that's shady.
I had questions about this same watch about a month ago when it surfaced. I feel like if it really is original, the seller would have an easier time selling if he left it in the sun for a bit so the finish wouldn't be so pristine.
Yikes- that I didn't know. They make is sound like it's genuine except the bezel. I read the thread from last year, not cool.
I guess since we are seeing redialed Bulova's and Hamilton's selling for $200, I guess there is money in anything.
All the fake Seiko Bullheads have serial # 6N3147 and they are EVERYWHERE. http://wristsushi.proboards.com/thread/14895/inside-totally-fake-bullhead
