I have been offered a Longines Flagship automatic 1503 in 18k pink gold with the gold rope dial. The condition is very good and I am supposed to make a fair offer. I made my research and the problem is the 380 movement which is not in-house. I am puzzled, and don't know what to offer. Any advice is welcome and I don't have a picture.... Thank you. Mounir
Here you are Sir, it took me 15 minutes to clear out the pictures. I am meeting the owner tomorrow. Thank you for you help. Mounir
Looks in nice shape. Facets still showing on the lugs and most of the original frosting is on the caseback. Correct crown and hands. Can't see the details on the dial to check for spots, but if it's as nice as the rest of the watch is easily a $1500+ specimen. If it had a true in-house caliber it would be a $2000 minimum watch. Don't go over $1700 for it though, and I'll be the seller starts higher than that.
Thanks to your help ( ulackfocus ), I managed to buy the watch. It is in condition except for scar above the longines logo on the dial. Here are some pics. Mounir
Yes it actually looks much nicer and rosier in the hand than in the pictures. Rose gold can be really tricky to capture in an image.
I am a witness to, and testify that, the above mentioned Longines Flagship wristwatch is, no matter what the photographs might show to be otherwise, in fact, produced in 18kt ( and not 14kt or perish the thought 9kt ) rose, and not yellow, gold.
LMAO! Wondering, and I'm sure @ulackfocus can 'testify', why does @omegastar have a reference number under the first 'wave' of his ship, and I don't? Perhaps only certain references where Longines did this? mine, a ref. 3408:
