I came here trying got get some information on my dad's two Omegas, which I learned were genuine ( no surprise there ) and my Seamaster had was redialed. Because all my current timepieces are "dress" watches and I rarely put on a tie, I have decided to buy a vintage Speedmaster. And for the record, I blame you all for this !

After reading here quite a bit, I have decided to buy a 5 - 10 year old Speedmaster. I am expecting one in great condition to be under $ 3,000 Canadian dollars. I don't care about resale as I am 100% positive it will never be sold.

Any input on to which reference I should try for or any reference to be avoided would be appreciated. I found a local store in Toronto full of great Speedies to chose from, but would rather shop with your input than trust the retailer.

    Thanks in advance

    Which store?

You're probably going to be looking for a 3570. Check the FS listings here as they come up regularly.

it will be tough to find one under 3000 cad in this market, ive went through this struggle so many times. but your best bet IMO is kirill at lunaroyster.com or kringkily on this forum

The 3570.50 is usually a luminova dial, which appears stark white to the eye - but if you can find an earlier tritium 3570 or a 3590.50 (all tritium) you may like the nice patina that develops. That's a decent place to start - though there's always the chance you can find an '80s 145.022.

I have decided the Speedmaster 3570 is the watch I want to buy, based on what I have read here. I want a newer version that I will wear and it will get old on my wrist

Exactly how do I identify a 3570 when I am looking at one? They all look the same to me !

The 3570.50 will have lume that looks white, and the bottom of the dial will read "SWISS MADE" only; no T's on this one ( " T SWISS MADE T ")

Check with Kringkily or ashleysteadman or any of the other well known sellers here. Keep an eye on watchrecon. Shouldn't be tooo hard to land one.
