Hi Forum, i am not a huge Fan of Speedmaster and i collect any other Omega's, but this time i have an opportunity for a interesting piece but asking to a friend looks like the dial as been changed, the owner say no ,is the original owner from 63 and they made a service in 2008, Omega provide all the parts back that is a good way to put it back to original, but the dial ???? any one an advise idea, the last comment was the dial is form the replica form 1999 but in 1999 no tritium. the watch is on hold until tommorow for me i have to device quickly thanks for reading me. Original box , no papers, we ae discussing around 7k US$ PAUL
I'll buy those left over parts! seriously though, interesting dial. lume looks white, but clearly marked with Ts. not sure what to make of that. I think i see a step there. how long does the glow last?
Just about everything on this watch has been replaced. The reference is highly collectable when in original condition. Having said that, everything has a price, but I would pass on this; what's the point of buying a vintage watch that has no vintage? Some/all of the original parts are there, pics make it hard to see condition, so assuming you put those back on, it helps. The dial is supposed to have a the word "PROFESSSIONAL" on it, with tritium lume (looks superluminova to me). the T's seem correct as does the script on the Speedmaster (hard to tell from pic) and the long indices are there. Pretty strange.
Interesting dial. Looks like Luminova to me too but those T's. It's a good candidate as a go as far as parts. You've got a DON, what looks to be original handset, a flat link bracelet of some kind (pushers, crown (?)... Another dial theory: Could be that they left the T's on some of the first batches of Luminova service replacements to keep the vintage look? Could also be last tritium dial to be made, and then lume makes a bit of sense still, as it is not that old...
Yes for me is a A7 Dial all is correct , the bag as all the parts changed in the service in 2008, crown , pusher, hesalite , Hands that may be replaced, if I follow 101 professional is missing, the serial is from 63, and in 63 no professional , I can go tommorow and see if the glow stop in some seconds will say tritium, but again the “replica” Dial was without T and the bars touch the counter , this dial looks like a legit A7. Lost in translation ))
Maybe the photographs don't do the dial justice, but it just looks too new and crisp (although I know it has a step and the Ts). This would always trouble me, even if I put back the hands and bezel and found a pre-professional case...
After looking I think benbagbag is correct should be a service dial with T the small difference with the original A7 is the T SWISS is a little too on the left ( half character) on the right side the MADE T is properly aligned like the A7 that the only difference with a A7;
Got the last news, seller play with words, original dial but relumed by Omega during the service , that’s the reason why A7 and shinny. All good now, will pass at that price as I was willing to have as Watch and not part it in parts. Have a good evening to all
That may be an original dial but not for that watch. That is a 105.003 style dial, hence the lack of 'Professional'. No 105.012 ever had a dial like that so your seller is either plain wrong or a liar.
I'm thinking 7k for that lot of parts and a nice 105.012 that needs a trip to the lum shop is not a bad deal. I'm sure some of you have already PMd to get the info. If it's in the US, I'd definitely like to talk to the seller. I'm not Will Hunting, but I can do the math on the bezel, bracelet, and other parts. Oh, and there's watch, too.
