Hi to all members, some days ago i bought a UG Uni Compax in gold plated case.Case have serial 1243866 and 42202.Dial seems to be original not repainted and very good condition for his age in my opinion, movement need a service but look nice.Movement is marked 481 but when i search about this calibre i find a movement with complications, full calendar and moonphase. Can enyone help with more details about that movement,if parts are corectly? Apologize me for my bad english. Thanks to all.
Movement is OK. UG did not distinguish simple chronograph movements from those with additional complications in its caliber numbers. Rather, the caliber numbers refer more closely to the size of the plate, so that the 481 is the 14 ligne version of the 281. The 481 could be in a Uni-Compax, a Compax, and Aero-Compax or a TRi-Compax. The rest of the watch is good too, the dial is definitely original. NIce buy.
Looks good. Caliber 481 is wider(31.7mm) end of 281 series. SN is right. Dial is right. Reference is right. There is a photo reference for this watch in the book. OK experts ...how did I do in interpreting SALA?
Nice aquisition! My Uni-Compax cal. 281 says 'hi' from the hammock : https://omegaforums.net/threads/universal-geneve-uni-compax-22223-cal-281.44003/#post-519861
