Need Advice: Tiny Red Mark on Bezel – How to Remove Without Scratching?

Hey everyone, I just received a pre-owned 2024 Omega Planet Ocean from a reputable jeweler/dealer, complete with papers. The watch is in immaculate condition, but I noticed a tiny red mark on the 12-hour mark of the rotating bezel. I’m not sure if it’s clearly visible in the picture, but I was wondering what it could be and, more importantly, how I can safely remove it without risking any scratches.

Any insights or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Welcome to OF @lasallite_08

Sorry I can`t see the mark, but you could try rubbing with a damp cloth, washing with a soft brush and soap, scratching with a wooden stick.

Sharp toothpick is worth a try. I would do that before putting liquid in the area, unless you know your seals are good.

Thank you guys! I was tempted to use some toothpick or fine needle, but wanted to make sure the silver paint (inverted triangle) doesnt easily get scratched 😊

Have you contacted the jeweler/dealer you received it from? Would start there before doing anything. Check the pics from the listing for the same red mark.

Usually one wouldn't see anything around the lume pip, makes me wonder what the red substance is. Reminds me of dental wax or more like the acrylic we'd mix if something came loose and we wanted to set it. With this being around the pip, it could be a repair job where the it popped loose.

With it being a 2024, shouldn't see anything on the ceramic bezel which tells me something's off. Could be nothing but definitely reach out to them to see.

Thank you vinz! That makes sense, and i just read that pip coming off is a common thing in these watches so wouldn’t be surprised if that’s what happened. I Just messaged them, to confirm. Its just this one thing, the rest of the watch including the bracelet not a single mark or scratch for a pre owned watch. Thank you again!

I bet it’s red loctite used to fix the bezel pip. A toothpick should be able to scrape it off.

Could be. Spoke with the jewelry store where I got it from and they said that to their knowledge, the bezel insert and lume pip have not been repaired. That it might be some sort of residue of a cleaning compound that may have been used by the previous owner. I was able to gently remove it using toothpick. Hopefully the pip wont come off.
