    Hi all,

    http://www.kijiji.ca/v-jewelry-watc...ue/1177397145?enableSearchNavigationFlag=true

I came across a watch that I found on Kijiji, but after doing a bit of research I became worried about it being a cheap pocket watch convert.

I was wondering if anybody on this forum would be able to give me some more info about this watch–for instance, if you believe the movement and dial are real, and an estimate of how much it might be worth.

Thanks in advance for any help!!!

Are there any nice, vintage Omegas that you can get for around the same price point (</= $500)?

Ebay is also great for these kind of purchases. OF has a really great marketplace, but it's not necessarily the best place to pick up a first vintage watch. Make sure to post here before you buy off ebay so people can confirm what you're buying is the real deal!

Hey all! I have still been searching for my first vintage Omega and I found one I quite like on Ebay. Do these watches look like good deals & legitimate?

Sorry if these questions are very basic &/or if I am not posting them in the right place!

    Thanks in advance!

Have you looked at the Private Sales section on OF?

I have! Right now my budget is pretty small and I couldn't find much in my price range in that section!

I will always recommend, for a first time buyer, save your money up until you can afford the watch you want, here. Because of the rules, purchases here are a lot less risky than on eBay. Deals can be had on eBay, if you know what you're doing. One of the 2 watches you linked to states it's a refinished dial and the other, although it states it's original, I'm not so sure.

That's good advice. I would feel a lot more comfortable buying from here. How much should I be prepared to spend for a reasonable quality vintage Omega?

Do exactly that until you know the difference between a 561 and a 564.

You will thank us in years to come instead of paying idiot tax elsewhere (like most of us did :D).

Ps: I have no watches in the FS section
    Love, Al
