I have a Carrera that has a broken sweep hand. it has a Valjoux 72 movement. I found this guy on Ebay
with sweep hands http://www.ebay.com/itm/Genuine-Heu...179579?hash=item3ae22502fb:g:fpkAAOSw32lYs6~sPurchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network
This is the first time I have seen any sweep hands for a Carrera.
So here are my questions. Will the hand work/fit a Valjoux movement?. Can the finish be altered to black?.
Looking at my sweep hand it is actually not black, but appears to have been blued (finish similar to gun metal).

    Thanks for you advice!

That's a nice watch, but I'm sure you know that the sweep hand from ebay is from the modern reissue that's got a different movement anyway... it may fit, but you'll always have something that looks like it wasn't meant for your watch.

Have you tried over at http://www.chronocentric.com/forums/heuer/ ? Jeff Stein & Mark Moss are particularly good on 60s Carreras, and you could do worse than getting in touch with Abel Court - http://www.heuertime.com/index.php?lang=eng&p=contact - to see if he might be able to find a suitable hand...
