I'm a big fan of the NCIS television show. The main character, Leroy Jethro Gibbs, has been wearing pretty much the same watch through the first 12 seasons. That watch is a 45mm Omega Planet Ocean Chronograph. In Season 13 (this year), Jethro is seen wearing a new unidentified chronograph. Can any of the members here identify it please? I still don't understand why anyone buys a LE watch named after a car, and even less so a car most of the owners are unlikely to ever own. Owning a Breitling for Bentley and then climbing into a... Chevy or Chrysler seems a bit sad I guess.
Oh, there's a lot of Walter Mitty factor in watch choice. As in "My other vehicle is a Lunar Lander."
And then there's the accountant wearing his ProPlof diving deep into the depths of Quickbooks fending off the grasping tentacles of the dreaded Tax Monster...
Or the sportscar-racing nerd sitting on his couch watching the 24 Hours of Le Mans wearing his Heuer 1163T, knowing modern watches would just be unnnecessary ballast on a driver's wrist, considering the current state of electronic lap timing
