hi guys, I'm very interested about a Nautilus or Aquanaut, what would be your choice and why ?

Second question is after spending time on chrono24 for genuine untouched 2018/2019 ones, what would be a decent and fair price in order to buy one?

Nautilus. I just think it looks better balanced. As to price, I have no idea.

 

I’m not a dress watch type of guy so only Nautilus I would spend my money on is the 5990. On the other hand I like/love every Aquanaut except the 5167 on bracelet.

Prices on the secondary market are going bananas with the 5990 selling close to double of its $53k price tag.

 

Anywhere from $45k.US for the white dial 5711 to $60k. for the blue dial 5711on the secondary market.
I like the white dial for thousands of reasons

 

Prices for these are nowhere near decent and or fair at the moment

 

I’d try and pick up a 5712a if you can. The dial changes from a blue to bluey green to a bluey grey depending on lighting.

 

Nautilus is phenomenal, But I'm actually of the school that really likes the Aquanaut. The orange Aquanaut is incredible! Congrats!

Aquanaut. Not a fan of the feeling of the nautilus bracelet and for that amount of money it should be amazing. Plus I dig the fact that you can wear the aquanaut anywhere.

 

I’d take the Nautilus, either a white 5711 or 5990. I’m not a huge fan of most of the Aquanauts and the bracelet on the regular Aquanaut doesn’t look right to me.

 

I like them both in the metal. Both are elegant and luxurious, for sport watches. I do feel like the Nautilus design is more balanced and it deserves its popularity.

But I were buying it for me, I'd hold that popularity against the Nautilus. I'd prefer to Aquanaut, in as much as anything, for being less mainatream. More unique.

 

Nautilus everytime, but they are just silly priced now. If you have the funds to drop that kind of coin on a steel sports watch, fine, but there are tons of watches available for a lot less money that are just as cool.

 

I owned a 5065A Aquanaut for a while - loved the size and the understated good looks. I literally had a woman ask if it was the new Seiko dive watch... Anyway, sold it and am on the lookout for another since.

To answer the question, Aquanaut, by the length of the rubber strap.

 

Can't comment about prices as they're crazy for both Nautilus & Aquanaut nowadays. But between the two, the Nautilus is the one for me. The bracelet is great (albeit a scratch magnet), it's quite versatile for weekends and weekdays, and that lovely blue-grey dial is mesmerizing.

 

Hard to go wrong with either. The Nautilus would be my choice if $ was no issue. For the Aquanaut I prefer the grenade dial of the 5065 over the current 5167.

The nautilus is the bomb albeit a dressier one than the Aquanaut (which is the grenade!)

 

I'm fortunate enough to own the 5065A and 5712 before the great rocket-launch-like hike in prices in the last 10 months.

The 5167 is a tad big for a small-wrist person like myself (6.5 ich), thus the 5065A.

Both are nice in their own way. The Aquanaut has more wrist time because I'm dressed casually most of the time. However I find the Nautilus more classy and has greater presence.

 

Maybe I'm on an island here and the prices of both seem nuts but to me the nautilus is an all time classic and the aquanaut seems like a cheap knock off to me

 

I actually prefer the Aquanaut and it's nearly half the price of the Nautilus. Watchrecon showing multiple Aquanauts for around $30,000.
