Which strap would you guys recommend that would allow the case back to wear the least amount? Ive heard that sweat and salt grind down the case back, but I've also heard that a nato does the same thing? Thank you

Not Nato, certainly over time it will leave a track over the case back. Two piece strap and case back protector if you are really fastidious, mind you that depends on the case back being flat. http://www.ofrei.com/page227.html also eBay etc.

Very good, never knew people made a living selling watch case back protectors. I assume that it will make your wrist sweat more with the plastic on your skin?

NATO will leave a zebra like imprint from the grooves of the material on a caseback after years of wear. I prefer leather, but it's more aesthetic than protective.

Ok, well I don't want that. What are your thoughts about the plastic case back protector, then using a nato?

I think this works well as mine shows no wear on the sticker yet after a while.

No, it's on the tape like the majority of them that I've seen.

Hmm. Do you know what the reasoning for that is? It seems they all have it

I understand the line is just an indicator to show there is a protective sticker applied, and to provide a starting point to peel it from. Sometimes the portion beyond the line to the outer circumference doesn't have adhesive applied to make lifting easier, particularly when applied to a crystal.

Several in the eBay link above do not have the red line, if you prefer that. It's really a minor thing and you wouldn't look at it everyday anyways.

Might be useful to align the sticker properly as well, Ie, line up the edges of the red line with the edge of the caseback.

I get wanting to take care of a great watch, but to me if I cannot use it I don't want it. I rather have a worn back cover that a piece of plastic stuck to it for posterity. It reminds me when I was a kid and I went to a friends house and they had the furniture in the living room covered with plastic...How can you enjoy it? If you're buying to sell then that's a different issue...don't wear it. If you buy it to wear but you can't fathom some wear sign then it is a bit of a conundrum to me. You can buy the real one and then buy a replica to wear...buy two? one to wear and one to look at?

Anyway, that's my opinion only, I get that we're all different and respect your need to preserve the watch in perfect condition.
