    It looks like a Sheffield diver or one of many cheaper divers like that.

    Agreed, these typically have base-metal cases and very cheap 17-jewel or even one jewel movements. Faux divers at best.

    I agree that it's most likely some sort of no-name diver-style watch very much like the one shown by @X350 XJR. The style was popular, so lots of watches were trotted out, often with cheap movements, no real depth rating, and often chromed cases. They are a dime-a-dozen.

    On the other hand, now and then you will find a decent piece with an ETA movement and a SS case, and sometimes even a modest depth rating (e.g. 100-150m). These still aren't tremendously collectible, but can certainly serve as nice beaters and are worth preserving. You really need to look closely since they all look similar at first glance.

    Considering it looks to have a plastic bezel, it's probably one of those infamous "one-jewel wonders."

    Could well be a pin-lever movement. Many of the cases even had snap-off case-backs that were made to look like screw-in case-backs.
