Hi, I am a newbie here. I have had an omega watch for years, and was moving house the other week and found it in a drawer. I took it to a jeweller to replace cracked glass face and to give it a clean. I just wondered does anyone know anything about this style of omega.? I have included pics. thanks.
It's a 60's or 70's Genève with a refinished dial. If it's from the 60's to very early 70's it has a caliber from the 56x series inside, either a 562, 562 or 565. If it's post-1972 it's powered by a caliber in the 10xx series, possibly a 1002, 1010, or 1012. I see the remnants of the hippocampus (seamonster) logo on the caseback so it's probably a 60's model.
thanks ulackfocus. yeah mean't to say that it is manual winder and has miniscule writing at very bottom of face (Tswiss made T) I think.
Duh! I should have noticed that. It won't have any of those calibers since it's manual wind. It should have something from the 600 series, which is basically the 56x without the self winding system.
Hi Ulackfocus, Thanks for all the omega help. just thought you may want to see my story on my sandoz.(just out of interest)
