Hi guys, new to the forum. Always have admired omega watches. Here is my new project.

Put in a new glass cleaned the dial and added a band.

What do you think?

Not sure if I should sell it or hang on to it.

Is it gold plated - hard to tell from the pictures?

Most collectors don't like prepared/restored watches but plenty of normal buyers do.

If you like it - keep it. If you don't - sell.

Yes it is gold plated but I brushed it because I planned on keeping it not selling to a collector.

I did everything to my own taste. I understand collectors don’t like polish and new lume but I want it to function as a watch on my wrist not in the case.

The only thing I’m not satisified with is the green tint on the band. I have another two vintage navy blue bands coming in so one of them should make me want to make it a daily wear.

here is a closer pic of the band.

Now off to work on my next project.

It sounds like you answered your own question. A collector wouldn't buy it because it has been altered by adding the lume. If you personalized it to your liking, keep it and wear it in good health.

Thanks Mac5.

I’m pretty sure I’m going to keep it.

Just waiting on the blue vintage straps to come in the mail and convince me.

By the way I did all this work without reading all the specifics the collectors like. Next time I have a few things I’ll do different.

I like the looks of your Cosmic and would keep it if it were mine.. I've also always liked the look of the GMT you're about to start on.
Best wishes,
Tom
