    Hi all,

After browsing this forum as a guest for a little while, I decided I should sign up and start contributing to this fantastic site.

My addiction started off with a new quartz 2223.80.00 mid size 2012 Seamaster.

As my interest and appreciation of watches grew, so did my fascination towards automatic movements .

This led me to purchase a 2254.50.00 full size - 2005 Seamaster off a family member, who owned the watch from new.

I use the 2254 everyday, everywhere. It’s a perfect everyday tool watch.

I’m still learning as I go on, and the hunt for the next watch for the collection has started.

    Thanks for reading.

I’m at a bit of a cross road at the moment - I really do fancy a GMT, but also fancying a moonphase.

I enjoy the hunt as much as the purchase. Also, being on forums like this has given me more knowledge and food for thought.

Mines picked up a couple of marks from daily use, but I’m of the opinion that the marks are character and one day they’ll tell a story..

Still looks fantastic for a 14 year old watch in daily use.

2254.50 was my first Omega and still my favorite seamaster.

Welcome, you’ve the start of a nice collect.

And down the rabbit hole you go. Of course you need a GMT, a moon phase and a Speedy (or several). Then you’ll start on the vintage.......

You started with the wrong models! Now it will be hard to find anything that beats the 2254 :D:thumbsup:

Thanks all for the replies, I’m definitely over the moon with what I’ve bought so far.

The mid size was brand new, so it’s a lovely collection with my original receipts, hang tags, outer box and everything that should come with it.

I’ve also been fortunate that my 2254 even comes with every bit of paper, hang tags, services and even the purchase receipt from 2005. So they’re definitely prized possessions of mine.

The hunt did start wandering into the Rolex Explorer 2, originally it was definitely going to be a 216570. However, as my knowledge has grown, my taste has changed. I no longer want that bulky 42mm watch with over sized hands, I’ve come to appreciate the older 16570 more with the 40mm and more subtle design.

This is where I am at so far with the GMT side of things, the moon phase interest is fairly recent, so I’m still researching into the Omega moon phases, which quite excites me to make the collection an Omega trio. I ‘think’ I’d be happy for a good while then.

Great start! And it’s awesome that you have complete sets on both counts.

    Wear them in good health

Congrats on two beautiful pieces! I agree that it can become a sickness. A moon watch would definitely add to the collection nicely!
