Remember the Speedy i bought last weekend?
Thanks to Fedex it did already arrive and as i promised here is the introduction.
    Here some impressions first.

It looks like a Transitional 145.022 68 according to the caseback.
Watch is working great also there is one issue i would like to mention, the upper pushbutton seems to be not screwed in completely,
    but its working correctly.
It has the vintage log on the crown and a DO90 bezel.

At the moment i wear to on a tropical nylon strap because the 1039 bracelet is way to short and in need of extra links (any sources? )

So now to the point that worries me a bit. Serial number begins with 277
and on spacefruits page is stated that a 68 shouldn´t be higher as 273.... so what do you say ?

    Thanks for your help

    Cheers

Looks like a very nice example!

I am not an expert, but personally wouldn't worry about the serial number. It's in the range for a '68 and AFAIK there are no absolutes there. If you must know with certainty, you can always order a museum extract from Omega. IMO it is very unlikely that the movement doesn't belong with the rest of the watch, which appears to be all correct.

    Rene,

to give you ease of mind: I have the very same model with a serial number to start with 27.719.xxx and most important fact:
It is confirmed by an extract from Omega archive!

So enjoy your new beauty

    best

    Rene,

don't take my pages as gospel! We all have to wait for that book for a gospel.

That's a lovely correct looking watch.

I am just an enthusiastic amateur doing my best to report what I observe.and I have always gone out of my way to say serials are approximate!

I strongly recommend an extract for watches like this.

    warmest regards

The extract will not tell you it´s a 145.022-68 but simply ST 145.022. But based on observations, 27.7 is in the range of 145.022-68 versions

Thanks for the kind words Guys,
but did you ever notice that poeple are starting to look strangely when you try to show them the tiny differences
between the different Speedmaster variations ;)
