My (to me) new Omega and some questions...

I managed to find a watch I been searching for a long time. Not an exclusive watch by any means, but this model was the first "expensive" watch I bought in the early 2000th. It is in very good condition, has been worn around 10 times and then placed in a safe for many years.

Is this considered to be a realible watch and a solid movement? How long can a quartz movement like this last and are there still spare parts to be found at Omega?

I hade the battery changed and they also did a test confirming it is water proof. The watch keeps excellent time... Anything else I should do?

Another thing - I searched for a picture of the movment via google image search. To be honest this watch looks a bit crappy on the inside. A lot of plastic around the movement and looks like a rather cheap watch. Are there any known issues with this model?

Thanks
Erik

Yes, it's known to be reliable and solid, and can last for decades if you don't let a battery die and leak inside of the watch and cause corrosion.

I'm told that after every 2 or 3 battery changes that it should go back to Omega for a service, to have the movement function fully tested and worn parts replaced if needed (so that's 8-12 years). But it should be tested for water resistance once a year.
