    Hey guys,

I recently bought my first Speedy - A 3570 Mitsukoshi mod and realized that it has been running since my last full wind 68hrs ago. Is this normal? The watch was from 2003 and has not been serviced before. Perhaps it's due for one? It has lost 19s in 68hrs.

wow.....I think a full wind on 1861 movement will run something like 42 hours.

Its 48hrs actually. Which means mine has been running for 20hrs way past it's specified PR!

Beautiful watch. Not sure about the other issue.

There are a variety of possibilities, my dad once commented that his Aqua Terra was amazing for running continuously off his wrist for a whole 4 day weekend when it only had a 60 hour power reserve. When I saw it on the Saturday evening, my ADD compelled me to pick it up off the kitchen bench and wind it manually 50 turns before screwing it back down and leaving it, he was awfully surprised when it stopped the following weekend.

Is it really a issue if its running well past the PR, since time keeping is pretty within spec range.

That's pretty impressive! How far did you wind it to start with? Did you feel any force when you stopped winding?

I think that's about right for an Ed White?

Do you keep it by your bedside? You might be winding it in the middle of the night without knowing it. You might want to use one of those night vision cameras to see what's going on.

Haha that's pretty creepy! I keep the watch in a watch box that's locked. There's no way i will wind it while asleep.

Yup, i felt that there's something that is stopping me from winding once i've winded like around 30-40 turns. The crown feels tighter with every wind.

It does sound odd. I'd say it's probably worth getting someone to check it over but might just be worth keeping an eye on it and seeing how it runs now it's in regular use.

Well it was just serviced so I'm going to let it as is. Better have a bit more power reserve than a bit less !
    :)

Why would an Ed White have a higher power reserve than a more modern Speedmaster?
