Hello I would like to present you a new piece in my Omega collection , this fantastic Speedmaster 105003 Though I am happy , at the same time I am very , very sad to have this watch with me……… My Uncle bought it new in 1968 , and since I remember it has always been in his wrist since then Sadly he died last week , that´s why it is with me now and that is why I am so sad. I will wear it in his memory , in a sense I feel as he is still me right now as I am wearing his watch and I will feel the same every time I do It is a very nice reference ST105003-65 that he bought new in 28th July 1968 , he had the original box and papers , though you can see the usual signs of using it daily for more than 45 years and I am afraid has never been serviced , works perfectly with an incredible precision and it is really nice , I can´t take it off my wrist for sentimental reason This post is my small homage for him , my uncle Juan , a great man Thanks for reading and hope you like
Very sorry for your loss. This is a beautiful timepiece, a little treasure for you, and I am sure your uncle would be proud and reassured, knowing his beloved watch is still working for a close member of his family - and not sold, given away elsewhere or lost. Wear it in good health - I hope I'll be able to leave my own Speedmaster to someone able to appreciate it, too.
Sad to lose your uncle. This is indeed a special Family heirloom. I'd get it serviced right away to ensure you have decades more to wear and remember your uncle.
Your latest Speedmaster is a lovely addition, but not a lovely as your story. The memories of your Uncle will always be with you.
Sorry for your loss. A very fitting memory that I'd only have the movement serviced at keep the rest as is, in perpetuity.
Sorry about your uncle. I received my first Omega (Seamaster) back in 1982 as heirloom from my deceased cousin. Of course I still have it, this important.
I hope your Uncle was a very old man when he left you, if so he would have had a full life and was obviously a man with taste (his watch says that!). It's not only a meaingful heirloom, but a stunning watch to the bargain. Sadness at his passing is understandable at this time, but as the years roll by and you look down at that watch, I'm sure a small smile will crease your face.
Hi JimInOz, yes he was rather old (84) , but his death was something really unexpected and sudden as he was very healthy You are right , his watch will remind him always (as I am right now looking at it ) Rgds
Sorry for your loss. Fantastic condition speedy Today I asked my 10y old to take my 105003-65 to Mars someday & I showed him the Apollo connection.
