Hi everybody, I just purchased my first Speed, a 145 022 69 ST, a few days ago (I joined some pictures of it) I managed to test my watch's accuracy on TG-timer, in order to know if it needed service or not. The results I got are not so good (the watch was fully wound before the test, with the lift angle set to 50°) : - Dial up : -11s/d ; Beat Error 0,8ms ; amplitude 230-245° - Dial down : -5s/d ; BE 2,2ms ; no measure of the amplitude - Vertical position (straight) : -7s/d ; BE 2,6ms ; no measure of the amplitude - Vertical position (upside down) : -17s/d ; BE 2,3ms ; amplitude about 200° - Crown up : -11s/d ; BE 2,4ms ; no measure of the amplitude - Crown down : -6s/d ; Be 2,2ms ; no measure of the amplitude It seems like the beat error and the amplitude are bad, do you think this can wait, or should I manage to service my watch rapidly ? Thanks to all
All right ! With the covid 19, it will be hard to find a watchmaker before a while, but I will try ! Thanks to all for your help
Don't hesitate. Go to Mérignac, look for M. Strack, specialist of 321, 861... Works in ABMT workshop ([email protected]). You'll adore it...
I am not qualified to speak to the needs of the watch, but I couldn't help but drop in to comment on what a beautiful piece it is!
In a week my ‘91 Speedy 145.0022 will gain a minute. I adjust and go on. Would it really warrant a service? piggbacking on the thread, sorry
My guess is when it left the factory. I know the Speedmaster is a precision watch, 1 minute a week is way off. If this is acceptable? am I good to go or is damage possible ?
Again, I don’t mean to hijack this thread, but service is the subject. I have of course many times read, “don’t let Omega do the service.” My ‘91 has the attractive patina. If I ask the Omega AD to send off and just service the movement and leave original dial/markers/hands, is this possible or will they alter the appearance of what makes it attractive? Unless we have a top guy in the American Southwest. Paying top dollar for good service isn’t a problem.
