over the past couple of years i have grown a huge appreciation for vintage watch pieces, i love the fact that most of the watches would of been used and made as tools instead of being fashion pieces and that each watch has its own story to tell witch you can see on how the watch has aged. the watch that got me started on omega watches was an omega pocket watch which i got for my 18th birthday from my parents. i wear it nearly every day in my waistcoat at work my second omega watch was a small seamaster deville automatic. I love the simplicity of it, it looks great with any suit and fits perfectly under a cuff of a shirt so after my pocket watch and deville i needed a more casual watch, i originally wanted a seamaster 300 but then i saw this beautiful 120 in a local watch store, it wasn't as bulky as the 300 and has the date it also seems more rare than the 300 at least i haven't seen anyone else wearing one. i couldn't resist putting it on the grey and black Nato strap, the watch has been given the nickname of 008 and of course no collection is complete with out a speedy, it not a rare one or a particularly old one dating from 1997 but it has quickly become one of my favorite watches its a perfect all rounder watch which you can where for any occasion and is a great conversion piece with the history behind the watch. It is the iconic omega watch I would love to see some of your collections or your favorite omega time pieces?
I love those lesser Omegas (SM 600, SM-DeVille, Amirautes, SM120... and the 166.027 is the King of the lesser Omegas.
Congrats on your good eye for vintage watches and for your nice collection What is next on your want list?
thanks alot i would love to have a gold connie with a pie pan dial but i will have to wait awhile as my watch funds are very low
Wow! That's quite a collection! They're such beautiful examples. Small in quantity maybe, but big in aesthetic appeal. Bravo!
