So my first ever Omega. 1960 vintage Sea Master. I tried too get interior case photos, but it appears my macro setting is not working. All came out blurry. These pictures will have to do for right now. This is what I do know:

    case # 14765 3 SC
    caliber 550
    serial # 17999237

I hope that this makes sense and is verified true. The inside (bottom) of the case was completely jeweled. Movement had a mirror shine to it. Appears to have been taken care of.

Now it is in for its first service since supposedly 2008. That is what the watch maker said. So that brings me to the question, how should this be serviced? What parts are routinely replaced, if any.

And need help with 2 of his recommendations,
    1 replace crystal,
    2 replace crown.

Crystal due to what I believe are minor honest scathes and the crown due to water intrusion. Crystal is a no with me. Crown should just be a gasket perhaps, not the entire crown. Let me know what you all think, about the watch and the pending service.

Thanks in advance for any help.
