    Good evening

I went to get one of my vintage watches from repair from Charly one of the best watchmakers in my country. Here are the photos of the restoration case and case back, the movement has been revised and adjusted to more than 1 sec per day. The bracelet that I had put on it is a Camille Fournet lizard strap with orange seams

    Best regards

    Best regards

    Georges

Nice watch, love those huge hands. Any backstory to the watch? Never heard of Revue.

Revue and Wittnauer were related. Where the Thommen fits, I don’t know.

This is the history of Revue https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Revue_Thommen and now the link of their actual collection of watches http://www.revuethommenwatches.com/#collection
Mine dates from 1966/1967 and had clones or similar siblings from Vulcain and Jules Jürgensen but with a much lesser finished movement. I bought it back on ebay almost two years ago at a very good price. The Revue chronos with the valjoux 23 mostly date from the 40's to the early 70's, there were also Revue chronos with the valjoux 72 but even rarer than the ones with the 23. A small brand that made great chronographs in the golden age of watchmaking an far less commonly seen than the chronos from the big brands.

I didn't know much about the brand, but your chronograph looks pretty sweet.

The only one I have is the one that I gave my stepfather for father's day, before he passed away 2 months later in 2014 - a smallish 20+ year old NOS NIB Grandville quartz two-tone dress watch with Tritium lume that still works. Not even sure if he ever got to wear it. Wear yours in good health!

Thank you. I have a very obscure watch and find back stories interesting.

I've long been a fan of Revue, and that is a really nice watch. While we're fleshing out the history of the brand, it bears mentioning that in the UK they are often labeled 'Vertex'. Their historic in-house Ref. 81, often cased in their chronometer spec (but usually uncertified) Centenaire model, is a beautiful movement that competed with the likes of the Omega 30mm family, Zenith 135, and Longines 30L. That they can be had at a fraction of the cost of any of the aforementioned is a real bonus to me.

I like Revue as well (almost as much as I like their MSR sibling Vulcain).

I currently only have this one - a re-issue from the 1990s with the calibre 82 (MSR X1). A replica of the 50s Revue-Sport models, which were indeed very close (or even identical to) the Vertex WWW (often bearing the same cal 59).
