So after a lot of reading and some help from a few speedmaster connaiseurs.. Here's my Franken-Broadarrow 57.

I picked it up at a garage sale, the deceased owner's wife found it in his things, I'm assuming the hands, bezel and dial were replaced during a service sometime in it's lifespan.

The case back indicates 2915-1, movement serial starts 154...
Took a bit of cleaning to remove all the gunk from the bracelet, case, pushers and bezel but here goes.

P.S. does anyone have an idea as to the value of the watch or it's component parts?

Lots of replacement parts on that if it is/was in fact a 2915. A 2915 would be very valuable, but: this one, likely more for parts.

Wait for the real experts to give better feedback.

Regardless, nice pickup. Especially if it was a good price.

Edit: OP, edit the title to include 2915 and you will draw out the experts for sure!

Certainly not a 2915 dial. Looks like a 105.003 dial and possibly re-lumed at that. Still a few hundred quid and no shortage of buyers if you wanted to sell the dial. The movement could well be correct as well as the case. If the case is genuine you could demand a very high price.

Bezel is a 70's one, worth around 100 or so.

    The pushers are also wrong.

I'd be tempted to sell the dial, bezel and hands and use the money to put on correct modern service replacements and get them artificially aged. Then you'll have a lovely watch that can be worn.

After looking at the other picture you've added, I might've been somewhat harsh saying the dial has been re-lumed.

Thanks for the breakdown! At first I was fooled by the dial and thought it could of been a 105.003 ed white as well until I saw the caseback reference.

I have sourced modern replacement broadarrow hands and steel bezel already, will post pictures when they come in.

The bracelet indicates 1175. Is this correct for a 2915?

I definitely think that's the best way to go. Yes your missing the original dial and bezel which obviously has a huge effect on the value. However, the chassis and engine look to be correct.

The 1175 is not original. They came in around the end of the 60's.

I think the original bracelet would be 7912 (or something like that)?

Considering it was a garage sale, and probably paid accordingly, this is a very nice find. Congrats.

Thanks for the info guys! It really is a mash up of several eras.

And yes I paid what I had thought was a fair value for a beat up speedmaster to the lady, figuring I would fix it up at school once I hit the chrono module. Wasnt expecting to dig up all this information. At the very least I learned a lot about this legendary watch

Great find. Most try to turn a 105.003 into something older. This is the opposite. The case looks pristine.

    Robo,

Glad you took my advice and posted it here. This is where the real experts are. Be patient and they will chime in. Like I told you earlier, you've came across a great find at a garage sale and there is still some definite value in that watch even with the service replacement parts.

Ugh, first I had some success in a dead-end vintage store. Now I go into every vintage store I can find.

Then I had some success at an estate sale. Now I look at every single estate sale.

You had a fantastic find at a garage sale. Must I look at every single garage sale now? Kinda feel like I need to. Congrats! With a little work, that's going to be a hell of a watch. With zero work, it was at least a very savvy investment.

Estimate how much you need to spend on a correct dial, hand set and bezel, then subtract it from the running price on speedmaster101.com to get the approx value for your watch. I think it'd be significantly more than a good 105.003, or two, plus a nice dial. Nice catch!

Therein lies the problem though. How do you price up a 2915-1 dial and bezel and more importantly where and how do you find them?

I'd say you've got to reduce the price by at least 60%.

No need to actually find them to come up with a guestimate for the watch as is, just like you did with your number. :) It'd still be significant even with that number.
