    Hello everybody,
Firstly, thanks to all of you on this forum, there is so much knowledge on it!

I recently got an omega constellation at a bargain price and I would like to have your feedbacks on it, on all the points I probably missed.
The basics information I have :
    Year : 1961
    Nb on Case : 14381 11 SC
    Caliber : 551
    Serial on caliber : 18282217
    Probably this one : http://www.omegaaddict.com/members/display.php?mode=display&watchID=196 ?
This watch is the same generation as the famous pie pan, but with a different dial... Is it the original ?
The dial has been refinished, but not perfectly... the "swiss made" is missing :/

Here some photo from the seller :
    Index and hands with onyx

I wonder what means the "CB" at the botom Watch3.JPG

I will never understand who is dumb enough to polish the gold medallion and lost all the details...

Here the caliber, I can see that the screw to push the regulator is missing... Which can be easily replaced I guess.
Do you see anything else wrong ? All seems to have the same patina.

I don't think I will try to open it myself
This watch keep the time well.
So if you say that is not a franken watch and it is worth it, I will probably service it.

    Thank you for your feedbacks.

Hello... You should have asked before buying I guess... Dial.is poorly repainted and the case is more than overpolished...

Yes, the dial has been refinished, and the case is polished. But I still really like the watch. It looks great, and you should be very proud of it :)

    Thank you for your feedbacks.
This watch is now at my watchmaker for service.

@Fost, Why does it look poorly painted to you ? the only flaw I see, is the missing "swiss made" ..

Not the best of pics I know
But have a look at the style of lettering on mine
    Yours should look like that
    It's all not quite right
See the pointy As in Automatic on your dial?
But check out the Constellation in particular
And the minute markets are too long
    Hope that helps

Ah right... You have good eyes :)
The "Automatic" is really big and bold on mine
Hopefully, I am not too picky for my first omega watch ^^
Maybe it will be worth a good refinishing of the dial in few years.

It's ok, Henri. You wear it and enjoy it. I have a couple of Constellations. One's an early purchase and was my first Ebay Omega purchase back in Ebay's early days. It's dial is a refinish as well. I never knew until much later. It's been a great watch for a long time now.

I'm just pondering what to do about the dial. I could punt and trade away the watch, but perhaps there's a fun project there.

Thanks for posting. Omegas with onyx markers are appealing to me.
