My possible search for a Speedy

Originally when I started my Omega fascination, I was (and still am) interested in the Seamasters. As I see the constant bombardment of speedmasters, they are starting to grown on me, and I am starting to think about them. I was thinking of going vintage, and with one from the year I was born, 1975 seams like a logical place to start.

From my initial search, I found there are no cases marked 75. So I assume it must be a 145.0022.74, with a serial number (861 movement) in the 33,000,000 range. Are my only options steel or leather strap? Any dial variations that I should look into. Do these speedies, have tritium lume, or were they the modern lume. (I honestly don't know when the transition started). Obviously I want original dial, case, and hands, and preferably un polished. I would lean toward a vintage leather strap (can be replacement). I prefer them to bracelets.

What else do I need to know, or is this the wrong place to start?

For dial variations. And general assessment tips.

Any further questions come on back and we will do our best!

    Happy hunting
