Hello All,

New to the forum. My name is Jordan, I have been a member over at TRF and VRF for over a decade, I go by the same user name as here.

I thought I would introduce myself and share some pics of my sm300 mill spec with all of you.

My watch is in stunning original condition. Extract dates this watch to a 1968 delivery date to the royal navy.

it features a tippex style T on the dial, fixed bars and case back engravings fully intact.
This piece also features the very rare so called "B6TBL" blue tinted bezel inlay.

Welcome. Is the blue bezel original to your watch or is it adapted from a 166.073?

its original. there are a few mil spec pieces that have this rare blue tinted bezel.
the 166.073 is not conpatible and will not fit a sm300. This has been astablished in previous threads. please see pictures below of differences between a 120 and 300 bezel. Not interchangeable.also below is a chart showing the known bezel variations for the sm300 including mine.

That's a gorgeous spec. Love the blue bezel insert it definitely adds character.

And welcome, I'm new to the forum also and love coming across these types of pieces that I had no clue existed. Thanks for the post

Awesome piece!

May I ask the date of your extract and if you supplied the case back markings to them or did they have that info?

The reason I ask is that Omega has some inconsistencies in extracts for MOD delivered watches and I’m trying to correlate them.

Nice watch. I'm gonna get one of these someday.

I'm new in this business, so forgive me if this is a stupid question, but was the dial altered somehow?
Different lume color on hour markers vs hands, a bit "bulky" 3/6/9, "closed" 6, big triangle overlapping minute markers? Or is it what well kept 50yo watch should look like?

Good observations, the dial and hands can easily have a different color of lume, due to different suppliers or batches of lume.

But all your other observations are precise and in my opinion not considered normal, at least i’we never seen this in other than some redials. Also the symmetry of the lume dots between the minute markers are a bit “off” on some of them.

Anyone here know how come this discrepancy, please chime in?

For the OP, could we see a lume shot of the dial under an UV light?

Definitely been some dial work done. Still a cool watch.

That's pretty bold!

@JanV I've seen this exact color dial lume with subtle asymmetric big triangle before on several BTs. I wouldn't rush to judgment so fast. The dial looks correct when compared to the ones I've held (big triangle non mil).

Ok, just searching for knowledge here as to educate myself in depth. The minute markers on the Big Triangle running OVER the lume looks very off to me, as well as the number 6. There are more and more scary, well made and manipulated watches out there as prices keep on rising, now especially on Military SM300’s. Not claiming the OP’s watch is one, but just searching for a logical answer to this discrepancy.

With asymmetric, do you mean how the lume has “moved” over the last 60 years unevenly on the dial, or how it has been applied?

Also a general warning light for me has been when you clearly see the holes on the dial at 6 and 12 in the lume. Usually these holes should be almost covered as the lume tends to change shape and become a bit wobbly over time.

Yes asymmetric big triangle is seen as in similar dial below (also military issue.) Can't recall seeing a closed '6' though.

Hi @Dash1
Asymmetric BT yes, here mine says hi. But i’we not seen any, to me “correct” dials with different numbers (3/6/9) or with misaligned / not evenly spaced lume between the minute markers. These have been on all i’we seen, in-line and evenly spaced between the minute markers, the same as on mine below. A wobbly lume is then a whole other story and correct as the lume moves and wobbles over time. And i have also never seen minute markers go over the BT lume. Just curious to get to know how this can happend and if it’s considered normal or acceptable.

The lume color looks fine to me. More concerned with the closed 6, Seamaster 300 font thickness seams varied (the S seems thinner than rest of word, could be the picture clarity) and the minute markers over the BT.
