Here is the Fratellowatches article about this set: http://www.fratellowatches.com/speedmaster-missions-case-34-up-for-sale/ Here is the in depth article about this set: http://www.motoringexposure.com/5478/speedmaster-missions-–-wednesday-watch The case consisted of 23 Speedmaster watches, of which 22 were the so-called “Patch” models, and the 23rd watch was the Speedmaster Replica 1957 model. In 1997, these sets were produced in three batches: the first batch was 40 cases with 23 watches, and the second batch consists of five cases of “artist’s proof” editions. The third batch of five cases was introduced in 1998. So, in total, Omega sold 50 of these Speedmaster Mission cases. The first 40 cases were introduced for the 40th anniversary of Omega’s legendary Speedmaster watch.
There was one of these on Ebay for years. What was the price US$100,000? One at Christies Speedmaster 50 Auction hammered for US$53,000.
The one on eBay last I saw was like $250,000. Obviously preposterous, but... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I've seen the one Jackmond has. What's interesting about these is that the few that have traded hands have sold for less then the breakup price of the set.
