·this is my very first omega, and the watch that actually led me into this world.
it is a Deamaster, case ref 165.002, cal. 552 automatic from 1965 that i've found thrown on the floor at an abandoned warehouse in an unhabited building. the building was about to get destroyed and rebuilt (got a premission to go there and take whatever i want so it was super cool).
the watch was in catastrophic condition (see last picture) - all scratched, stops once in every rew minutes, missing the inner lever that dixes the mechanism to the case, and dial was super dirty, besides the patina. the band was a strechy hong-konmg marked, rusty internally, with some dead springs.
as i've understood this potentially couldn't go any lower, i've consulted a watch dealer friend and polished the acryllic, as well as gently polished the case.
the dial had been cleaned with rudico (NOT refinished in any way), the missing fixation lever was inserted, and a friend of mine took out some kind of a debris that made the watch stop every now and then, so it works perfect now.
i have ordered a leather old-looking straps for it and i do wear it daily now. i like the patina look of the dial (although it could do better without those little spots i guess).
i am super happy with my find and fix, and happy it got me in a way i've entered this hobby.
just wanted to share the luck and happiness of physically finding an omega in the trash 😄
