    after all this Conny threads I thought we should return to the real thing ....the old Speedys :p

    Here is my newest acquisition

    As can be seen on the next picture, this is one of the rare examples with very flat edged totalizers and no step at all (whereas all the 2915 series dials as well as all the later 2998 series dials had more or less slight steps)

    These flat totalizers were typical for the 2915 dials, so here we have a transitional form and very early 2998 dial, which fits to the pretty early movement No. 16.xxx.xxx

    Oooooo, BASE 1000 and a dot over 90! I like the alpha hands too. The only better Speedmasters are the early Broad Arrow hands models.

    Nice one - looks identical to the later 2915-3 models (along with the 16m serial) if not for some subtle dial differences.

    I love this watch. Indeed A very early serial for a 2998.

    the dial looks fantastic.

    BTW, have you confirmed the 16m serial belongs to the 2998 case? Never seen a 2998 serial this early - have seen 16.6M serials for the 2915-3.

    Superb, an excellent addition indeed.::love::
    I would love a 2998 one day. Can you show a picture of a "normal" 2998 dial so I can make a comparison of the two?

    Regards

    Hi Mike - can you point out what the dial differences are between 2915-3 and the 2998-1?

    Gunnar - this is a superb find! Magnificent! I went and put on my 105.012 (on original bracelet) just for the purposes of continuing to read this thread. Question - can you clarify what you mean by "totalizer", and specifically, what you mean by "flat edged" vs. "stepped" totalizers?

    cheers,
    Mark

    Fonts for Omega Speedmaster are different and the 5 minute hash marks in the minute subdial is shorter on the 2915 dials.

    Hi Mike - yeah, could you elaborate on what to look for, and approximately where in the product line you see them change?
